During their time in Austin, Texas, Feels Like Home started a crowd-funding project to purchase a tour van. Thanks to their long-time supportive fan base, they were able to reach their goal and buy the van of their dreams. One of those incredible supporters was Matt DiPietro’s (vocals/guitar) uncle and Godfather, John DiPietro. John had always shown great interest in his nephew’s musical endeavors. Long before Matt even knew what music was, John had become the world’s biggest fan for another band: U2.
After generously donating, John had earned one of FLH’s top rewards, which was a recording of literally anything he desired, be it a cover song or an original song written just for him. Almost immediately, Matt knew what his uncle wanted them to record. It was just a matter of deciding which of his top three favorite U2 songs they wanted to pursue. Once “Where The Streets Have No Name” was mentioned, it was a no-brainer.
Late last year, FLH lost one of their founding members, Mike DeMellia (guitar), leaving the wheel in the hands of Matt and Dave Belmont (drums). With some time to reflect, Matt and Dave put all their focus into finishing the cover song on their own. As the recording came closer to being finished, they grew very attached to the song and wanted to have it released. So now, they’re finally breaking their silence with a cover that they hope will get people excited, just like their version of Coldplay’s “Yellow” (
